LOUISE BEARDMORE - CEO
Louise is a board member of United Utilities Plc and became CEO of United Utilities on 3 April 2023. Louise was previously Customer and People Director holding a number of senior positions across water, electric and gas utilities as part of the United Utilities Group with roles in business transformation, operations, customer service and people capabilities both in the UK and internationally. Louise has also run services for a number of international well-known utility and retail brands in the USA, Canada and Asia. Louise is an advocate of the power of inclusion and employee engagement to drive superior business performance and is a Non-Executive Director of Engage for Success, Vice President of the Institute of Customer Service and a Chartered Fellow of CIPD. Louise is also a board member of Water UK and WaterPlus Limited.
Louise is also on the Northern Power Women ‘Power List’, and is a member of the 30% Club.
NICK GERRARD
Nick has over 30 years leading-edge, planning, urban regeneration, economic development and corporate management experience at the public/private interface with high calibre Boards including senior positions of Deputy Chief Executive and Director at Manchester’s New Economy, Trafford Council, North West Development Agency, Merseyside TEC and Trafford Park Development Corporation.
He is currently Growth and Prosperity Programme Director at Blackpool and leads the team responsible for implementing Blackpool’s £2 billion+ transformative Growth and Prosperity investment programme which includes major schemes at Blackpool Airport Enterprise Zone, Talbot Gateway Central Business District, Blackpool Central and Blackpool Town Centre which are helping to transform Blackpool’s economic fortunes.
SPENCER PHILLIPS
Spencer is an entertainment industry veteran, who has worked with, amongst others, Ticketmaster and Andrew Lloyd Webbers, LW Theatres, where he led the launch of the London Palladium back into variety performance and was privileged to work on Royal Command Performances, The Princes Trust Awards, Sunday Night at The London Palladium and Comic Relief, as well as bringing the world’s biggest stars to the world famous stage including, Bon Jovi, Coldplay, Neil Diamond, Elton John and Robbie Williams.
Charity roles include Royal Variety Charity, Executive Committee Member, Chairman, the Cheetah Conservation Fund, Trustee, the Gorilla Organization and Chairman, Showtown Blackpool, opening in March 2024, Blackpool’s first museum, will be dedicated to Blackpool’s pivotal role in the worlds of dance, theatre, circus, magic and the world-famous illuminations.
TONY DOYLE
Tony is responsible for driving Blackpool Council’s Digital Strategy which includes the building of a Local Full Fibre Network, the transformation of customer and employee digital experiences and developing security and cyber defences.
He also acts as Chair of the Co-operative Network Infrastructure (CNI), which brings together public and private sector organisations to create and share new digital infrastructure in Tameside, Blackpool, Manchester and Sussex.
With over 25 years’ experience working and leading in IT and digital, Tony brings a wealth of knowledge to the MeetBlackpool Ambassador scheme which includes: technology and cloud transformation, data centre migration, digitising business processes, building apps and digital streaming services, and identifying disruptive technologies.
Previous positions include North-West Regional Chair for Socitm, the professional network for digital leaders in the transformation of local public services.
